End of Season Elan Owners Bash

A good turnout for the first End of Season Bash held at the Ketch Rigger, Hamble Point Marina.

Elan Owners met Rob Humphreys, Nike PIke and the team from SD Marine Ltd, Ian Buchele, Roger Moon & Jane Carrington, for an informal get together Saturday 15th November 2014.

Ian opened the meeting by greeting all and welcoming them to what he described as the first of many meetings and events. He invited Rob Humphreys to tell the owners the latest developments in the Elan history and the reasoning behind them with regards to the Elan range of performance yachts.

After which it was time to go onboard the 3 Elans that were made available: The Elan E5 was afloat, the S4 and E3 on the hard, right outside the Ketch Rigger restaurant!

A superb buffet was served inside the Ketch with plenty of time to chat with other owners and the hosts.

An event calendar was proposed and was received enthusiastically by all. Mention was made to organising the birth of an Elan Owners Club and 2 of those present volunteered to help SD Marine to set it up and run it. Hopefully, more volunteers will emerge. The hope is to start up a website dedicated to the owners and run by the owners with support from SD Marine Ltd.
